Some of the Hamptons' downlow, here for your enjoyment.
A-Asprey at 45 Main Street, Southampton. If it's good enough for the Queen, it's good enough for me.
B-Buffett, while Jimmy may be lounging at Le Select in St Barths, his daughter Savannah is making her way in the music industry with a Sirius/XM radio show, popular with the "in" set here.
C-Citation Air vs AAG vs Net Jets vs Blue Star Jets--who's going to win the rights to be THE private aircraft provider to the Hamptons? Everybody's talking.
D-Dream Water. Yes, you heard it here first--water labelled, "drink to dream" claims to relax you and help you fall asleep. "These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA." Seen on all the bedsides.
E-"The End." No, it's not the closing of Jay McInerney's latest novel, but rather the moniker for Montauk, at the end of line of Hampton villages. Also, "East End" is used to signify the Hamptons more discreetly; Bravo housewives still call it The Hamptons.
F-Fue de Bois by Diptyque--still the candle and company of choice out East.
G-Gin Lane--for a good time, you only need to crash the gates at the beach clubs here. Good luck! If all else fails, head over to Montauk and stop in at Gurney's Inn.
H-Hamptons Bay. A lesser Hampton, but making a move.
I-iZo Cleanze. As reported in the Spring Cleaning for Millionaires, internal cleansing is de rigueur, but Blueprint may have a rival.
J-Jews--still a topic of conversation in this day and age.
K-Kors, Michael and Kara Ross--two designers to know and covet as all the stylish ladies do.
L-Liar's Saloon vs Shagwong in Montauk--where are the bigger bar fights?
M-there is only on M in the Hamptons club scene, and it is the Maidstone Club. If you have to ask...
N-Nepotism--still alive and well. No names will be named.
O-Oscar de la Renta-still the biggest name in Ladies-Who-Lunch dressing.
P-Plum Hamptons--a new, free magazine in the Hamptons (and coming to Aspen soon) with a contributors list to rival Graydon Carter at Vanity Fair.
Q-Quogue, East Quogue. Poor Quogue, what's to be said for this village on the other side of the bay?
R-Rosen, as in Aby and Samantha Boardman Rosen. Big, bright, boisterous and the life of the party when they're in town.
S-Serafina, the new kid on the block vs 75 Main vs the NYC transplant Sant Ambroeus--where to be seen, where "to scene"?
T-Tate's Bake Shop, if it's good enough for Bloomberg, it's good enough for me.
U-"undersold", "underwear", "underbelly", "underfunded"--words you never hear here.
V-the Village of...they're all villages of course, like the mansions in Newport, RI are just cottages.
W-Wyandanch Lane, leading to Gin Lane. Plane tree-lined street, one of the most desired in the East End. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
X-Xenophobia. See "J".
Y-Yachts Clubs, honestly, the Hamptons are more about golf clubs--Sebonack, Atlantic, Shinnecock Hills and The Bridge. Again, if you have to ask,...
Z-Zinterhofer. There is only one Z out East, and it's Aerin Lauder Zinterhofer, set to launch her new role of designer next year--advertisers rejoice.

Breathless....whew, that was a doozey.
You're back! What a great post. I've never been to "East End" and probably won't ever go there, but it was fun to learn the ABCs of such a well-known spot. And what are they putting in that water? I can't think of anything that's in it naturally that would make you sleepy. Oh, and Michael Kors - I only have a few things with his name (or initials) on them but I like them because we're both "MK".
I will have to re-learn my ABC's!
I love it all, Joseph, especially the Hamptonian fondness for the fabulous Feu de Bois by Diptyque, and the fact that the region is no longer known as 'The Hamptons' by anyone other than the likes of the "Real" "Housewives". Where would we be without you?
Genius!! Loved this.
I'd have to put "E" for Edie, however. You know, as in Little. :)

Great post...I'd have to say that there are fewer fights at Shagwong, but you do get the occasional rapist and/or killer lurking about...

Costin M.
Great blog post! Love your A-Z approach... now I really want to go to the Hamptons even more. Thanks for the comprehensive 'what to do' list ;)
I'm catching up... anywhere that tries to distance itself from a touch of 'reality women' works for me. Great post!
